I’ve had the free MyCarFax app on my phone for the better part of a year now, mostly using it to keep track of my oil change intervals. It’s been useful, but nothing to write home about. Today though my car was added to the Takata recall and the app sent me an alert within minutes of the announcement. I've already booked the service for next Monday and will probably have it taken care of before I even get the official recall notice from Subaru. Not bad, Car Fox, not bad.

I just use it to type in license plates, to see what year a car is (or what even a certain car is). Even though I don’t use the app to its full potential, it’s still one of my favorites.
